Seascape Road
Remuera
The renovation at Seascape Road was a large-scale transformation, beginning with a front extension constructed using strip footings and a new timber-framed subfloor. This allowed for the creation of a new formal entry and significantly enlarged the dining and living areas.
Two bedrooms were modernised with new wardrobes, and the existing ensuite was refreshed, featuring a spacious, fully tiled walk-in shower as its standout element. Internal joinery was updated throughout, including the installation of elegant barn doors. New polished hardwood timber flooring was laid to match the original structure, then sanded and refinished to create a seamless blend of old and new.
As part of the extension, a significant portion of the roof was rebuilt. New trusses were installed on-site to support new purlins and a complete re-roof in corrugated iron. Three skylights were added to flood the main living areas with natural light. The entire home was shrink-wrapped to allow uninterrupted work during all weather conditions. With the owners living onsite, the team ensured the site remained safe and comfortable each night.
The exterior was re-clad with bevel-back weatherboards over a RAB board cavity system, and new aluminium double-glazed joinery was installed throughout. The garage, originally clad in plaster, was stripped and re-clad with matching weatherboards for a cohesive look. A fresh exterior paint job completed the transformation.
Hard landscaping at the front of the home included new masonry block walls with plaster rendering and in-situ concrete stairs, creating a strong architectural entry that leads down to the newly defined front door.
