This flagship project for Build and Construct involved a complete internal gut and reconfiguration of an existing two-storey home, transforming it into a modern, functional, and beautifully finished residence. A major change to the layout saw the existing garage relocated, making way for a new bedroom and lounge area that now enjoy direct access to the existing pool. The lower level of the home was redesigned to include two bedrooms, a guest bathroom, laundry, and an ensuite, along with a striking new entrance and double-car garage.
Significant structural work was required, including the installation of steel beams and concrete pads to support the new design, with fresh timber framing throughout to ensure a high-quality finish. Upstairs, the open-plan kitchen and living area became a standout feature of the home, offering stunning views of the Tamaki Estuary and enhanced by the addition of skylights that bathe the kitchen and scullery in natural light.
The master suite was fully reimagined to include a large work-from-home space, custom walk-in wardrobe, and luxurious ensuite, while a powder room and additional guest bedroom with its own ensuite completed the upper level. We worked closely with an interior designer throughout the project to ensure all details were considered, including fully tiled bathrooms with custom cabinetry and custom wardrobe systems in all four bedrooms. The home was finished with engineered timber flooring throughout for a cohesive and elegant feel.
Externally, the house was upgraded with new double-glazed aluminium joinery, re-rendered plastered masonry, and a full repaint. The existing pool was refreshed with new mosaic tiling and glass balustrading, surrounded by newly tiled surfaces to complete the look. The driveway was entirely replaced with improved drainage, and the landscaping was enhanced with cedar screening and planting to tie the entire project together.
This build is a testament to Build and Construct’s commitment to detail, quality, and creating high-end residential spaces.
